I've recently started implementing some ASP.NET AJAX functionality to an existing Sitecore 5.3.1 website. The problems I've run into while developing and implementing AJAX functionality to an existing is not what this post is about, but this post is about a minor setting you have to do within the web.config in order to make it work with Sitecore.

I've got  the following error:

To make sure to get rid of this error, please add the following to the IgnoreUrlPrefixes setting in the web.config file:

|/ScriptResource.axd

By adding  |/ScriptResource.axd to the IgnoreUrlPrefixes setting, you create a separated list of url prefixes that should not be regarded and processed as friendly urls.
